What is a QR code?

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores information such as URLs, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, event details, payment instructions, or prepared messages. A smartphone camera or scanner reads the pattern and opens the encoded action, so the destination, label, and surrounding instructions should be clear before the code is published.

Are QR codes free to use?

Yes. QR Code Crafter generates static QR codes without an account requirement, subscription gate, hosted redirect, or scan quota. Once you download the file, the code can be used on printed material or digital assets as long as the encoded destination or payload remains valid.

How long do generated QR codes last?

Static QR codes do not expire because the payload is inside the downloaded code. They keep working independently of QR Code Crafter, but the link, phone number, payment identifier, Wi-Fi details, or document destination still needs to stay accurate and available after publication.

Can I customize the colors and logo of a QR code?

Yes. You can adjust foreground and background colors, choose styling options, and add a logo for branded QR assets. Keep strong contrast, preserve the quiet zone, avoid covering too much of the code, and scan the final exported file after it has been placed into artwork or a print proof.

Do I need an account or login to generate QR codes?

No. The browser generators are designed for no-account static QR code creation. You can enter content, preview the code, choose an export format, and download the asset without creating a dashboard or storing generated QR payloads in a QR Code Crafter account.

Which file formats can I download (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, PDF, EPS)?

You can export PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, PDF, and EPS files. Use SVG, PDF, or EPS for print, packaging, signage, and design handoff; use PNG, JPG, or WebP for websites, email, documents, chat messages, and quick digital sharing.

Can I edit or track a QR code after it’s created?

A static QR code cannot be edited after download because the payload is encoded directly into the image. For analytics, use UTM parameters or a redirect you control before generating the code. For editable destinations, scan dashboards, and campaign reporting, use a dynamic QR platform and document that dependency before printing.

Why won’t my QR code scan and how can I fix it?

Scanning problems usually come from low contrast, small physical size, damaged quiet zones, over-compressed images, glossy print, awkward placement, or a logo that covers too much of the pattern. Export the correct format, test the final file on iPhone and Android, and scan a physical proof before printing in bulk.

Do you store any of my data or collect analytics?

Static QR generation is processed locally and downloaded static codes are not tracked. Dynamic QR redirects store the destination and private-management hash they require. Privacy-preserving aggregate redirect counts are enabled and owner-only; they do not store IP addresses, user agents, referrers, cookies, location, device, browser, or unique-visitor identifiers. Site analytics measure aggregate website performance and content quality, not QR payloads or individual QR scans.
